Mental Health Matters

by admin April 1st, 2017

In any given week, 500,000 Canadians are unable to work due to mental health problems or illnesses. Workplace stress, burnout and depression are on the rise. One in three workplace disability claims are related to mental health problems or illnesses.

While there are many factors that impact an employee’s mental health outside of work, workplaces can positively contribute to mental health and well being, and respond in a supportive way when employees do experience mental illness.

The Mental Health Commission of Canada has information, tools and resources available to support the psychological health and safety of employees. Visit Workplace Resources for more information.
